External organizations also provide assistance to our students. Students are encouraged to apply for these external awards, scholarships and/or bursaries. Application procedures and deadlines are specific to each one of these awards, so please confirm these details prior to applying.

Allied Van Lines Scholarship 2024

Provides (4) $1,000 scholarships to qualified Canadians or Permanent resident students in the areas of Business, Logistics or similar fields of study.  Winners will be informed by email.

Chaney-Ensign Bursary Fund

Provides bursaries to students in any subject enrolled in a college, university or institution in Canada or the US, who can demonstrate financial need and who have graduated from a publicly funded secondary school in Hamilton. Undergrad and postgrad students are eligible.

David Davis Memorial Bursary

Provides bursaries to students who can demonstrate financial need and who are enrolled in a music program at a college, university or institution in Canada, the US or abroad. Undergrad and postgrad students are eligible.

Dr. E. Bruce Hendrick Scholarship

The Dr. E. Bruce Hendrick Scholarship Program was established to encourage and support students with hydrocephalus and/or spina to develop independence and responsibility for their own future educational directions; and to assist students to pursue higher education with the ultimate goal of obtaining a degree or graduate certificate or diploma.

Dundee Deco $1000 Scholarship

Offers a $1000 scholarship to students who aspire to shape the future of interior spaces in Canada, providing them with the financial support and encouragement they need to pursue their education and achieve their potential.

Geritol Follies Bursary

Provides performing arts bursaries to students of voice, drama, dance or musical instruments who are enrolled in a college, university or institution in Canada or the US, who can demonstrate financial need, are and who have graduated from a publicly funded secondary school in Hamilton or Burlington. Undergrad and postgrad students are eligible.

Hellamaid Scholarship

The Hellamaid Scholarship offers a $500 award each semester to support Canadian students in their academic pursuits. It is open to undergraduate or postgraduate students enrolled in accredited Canadian colleges or universities.

Indspire Awards

Indspire disburses bursaries and scholarships through its Building Brighter Futures program to Indigenous students who are enrolled in post-secondary programs. Since 1985, Indspire has disbursed bursaries and scholarships to First Nation, Inuit, and Métis post-secondary students. It is the largest funder for Indigenous education outside of the federal government.

Kevin Collins Abilities Scholarship

The Kevin Collins Abilities Scholarship is presented to a postsecondary student with a disability. Eligible applicants must have a minimum of one full semester left in their postsecondary education. National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) Financial Aid Portal

The National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) is pleased to announce the availability of its new financial aid portal for students with disabilities: www.DisabilityAwards.ca.

With the support of the Canada Student Loan Program and the Office for Disability Issues, NEADS has developed a site containing over 300 scholarships, awards and bursaries specifically for post-secondary students with disabilities.

Parts Canada Trans Can Entrance Awards

Awarded to a student entering Canadore College in his or her first year of a Skilled Trades program, who participated in or attended that year’s Parts Canada Trans Can at Walton Raceway. Value $1,000.00

Peters Innovation and Development Grant

In the spirit of giving back, Jevonne Peters created this grant to help university and college students, and independent artists in Canada, innovate and develop their creative ideas. The grant supports students by providing access to the software tools that they need for research and creation. This grant was inspired by her own past challenges with securing software licences as a creator and considers the applicant’s creative ability and/or potential. The Peter’s Innovation and Development Grant, awards $250 towards the purchase of software and or/licences.

Pink Pearl Canada Scholarship

Pink Pearl Canada invites self-identifying young women facing cancer to apply to their $1000 post-secondary education scholarship to help alleviate the financial stresses you face while navigating a cancer diagnosis as a student.

Storwell's Foster Children Bursary Program

Storwell offers an annual bursary of $2,000 in support of foster children to help them attend post-secondary schools and to offer a hand up as they make their way forward in life.

Taking Flight Scholarship

For Indigenous students who are pursuing or wish to pursue studies in preparation for a trade or profession related to the Mineral Extraction and Processing Industries. Three grants of $4000 each will be awarded annually to qualifying applicants. Recipients will be announced, and funds will be awarded in December.

The Rick & Amanda Hansen Scholarship for Youth with Disabilities

The Rick and Amanda Hansen Scholarship for Youth with Disabilities provided financial support to Canadian Youth with disabilities to pursue post-secondary education. The bursary is open to any person with a disability, defined as functional limitation – whether permanent or episodic – that is compounded by barriers.

Voyageur Aviation’s Pathway Bursary

The Pathway Bursary Program is designed to award select students enrolled in a qualifying program with Canadore College’s Aviation Campus in North Bay. The Pathways Bursary Program offers full tuition scholarship, summer employment for those in a two-year program, and a guaranteed offer of full-time employment upon completion of their program.
