Since 1972, Canadore College has been awarding scholarships to deserving students. Last year, Canadore College awarded 144 scholarships.
Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of academic excellence, attendance, and overall contribution to the classroom.
Entrance awards open on April 1 and close on May 31 at 11:59 pm.
Selected recipients will be notified by email in the month of July.
Air Base Property Corporation Entrance Award
To a student entering their first year of an Aviation program, who has graduated from one of the local high schools; based primarily on academic excellence in student's graduating year of high school.
CIBC Entrance Award
Awarded to a student who is entering Canadore College in their first year of a Business program.
Louis Hoog Memorial Entrance Award
To a student entering the Business-Accounting program; based on Grade 12 performance and grades.
Scotiabank Entrance Award
Awarded to a student who is entering Canadore College in their first year of a Business program. Preference will be given to students with high academic standing and a demonstrated interest in international business and/or affairs.
Dean McCubbin Memorial Entrance Award
An entrance award for a first year student in Nursing or Recreation & Leisure Services.
Cogeco Entrance Awards
To students entering the Broadcasting - Television and Video Production program; selection is based on academic excellence.
GRANT AND JACK BURTON ENTRANCE BURSARY ($300)
The Award shall be directed annually to recognize a student with the following qualifications:
- The candidate is from Northern Ontario.
- The candidate Is entering their first year in a trades related discipline at Canadore College.
- The candidate has demonstrated financial need.
Aramark Entrance Awards
Funds were donated to the Harris Learning Library Campaign, a portion of which were earmarked for student scholarships. Awarded to deserving students entering their first year at Canadore; distributed among campuses.
Canadore FIRST Entrance Award
In support of the FIRST mission, Canadore College is offering two merit-based scholarships of $5,000 to Canadian secondary school students who have participated on a FIRST® Robotics Competition team in secondary school. To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must be entering Canadore from secondary school for their first postsecondary program, and meet all standard admissions criteria. A letter from the secondary school will be needed to confirm participation on a FIRST® Robotics Competition team.
Operation Legacy Scholarship
Operation Legacy is a scholarship established by 21 Aerospace Control and Warning Squadron of North Bay that is available to Canadian Forces Base (CFB) North Bay military families (current and former) attending Canadore College. It is also available to dependent children of a Canadian Forces member who has died while serving in an active mission since 2002. Applicants will be required to provide supporting documentation that confirms their affiliation with CFB North Bay.
Canadore College Alumni - Children of Alumni Bursary
The Canadore Alumni department selects the recipients. Candidates must include the name (maiden name, if applicable) of their Alumni parent in their application. Award value is determined by number of successful applicants. Max. award value is $500.
