Places to Gather

Student hangout areas, lounges, and gathering spaces on campus are important hubs for socializing, studying, and relaxing. They provide opportunities for students to connect with peers, take breaks between classes, and engage in extracurricular activities. These spaces foster a sense of community and contribute to the overall campus culture, enhancing the student experience both academically and socially.

Cafeteria

The College Drive Cafeteria is a great spot for students to gather, to enjoy a meal, to study or to hang out with a variety of options to sit at tables and couches.

Welcome Centre / Alumni Hall

The Welcome Centre is located just past the front doors of the College Drive Campus. It is home to the Canadore Students' Council and Access and Inclusion departments. This area frequently hold events and also features some couches for quiet gatherings. Across from the Welcome Centre is Alumni Hall which features some seating area in the hallway for students.

The Village - Deacon Square

Deacon Square, located within the Village features tables for students to meet in small groups and to study. This area hosts student events and also provides students with the opportunity to interact with the Village VIPs (seniors who are part of the Canadore community).

International Office

Canadore's International office is great spot to connect with staff, to meet with friends and learn more about Canadore's International department.

Fitness Centre

The College Drive Fitness Centre is available for use for Canadore College full-time and part-time students, college staff and faculty, and alumni. Located at the College Drive Campus on the Mezzanine level of the G-wing, the Fitness Centre houses a variety of equipment and is suitable for general fitness, cardio, mobility, and flexibility workouts.

Education Centre Gymnasium

The Education Centre Gymnasium is our main hub for all things Sport and Special Events! Complete with retractable bleachers this facility can accommodae the following activities:

  • Basketball
  • Volleyball 
  • Badminton
  • Indoor Soccer
  • Pickleball 
  • And more!

Light Therapy Lounge

Canadore’s Light Therapy lounge is open to students at our College Drive Campus and is open to all Canadore students. The space is open during regular school hours.

Harris Learning Library

Library visitors can borrow physical resources (books, DVDs, posters, kits etc.) using their valid student/staff/faculty card.  Community members are issued a separate Harris Learning Library card. The library also features a number of solo and group study spaces intended for quiet studying. 

Location: Outside the College Drive Campus (separate building)

3rd Floor Student Lounge

This newly renovated space contains a variety of seating options for solo or group study sessions.

CSC Lounge

The CSC Lounge is located directly across from the Campus Bookstore and is a bright space for students to hang out and gather.

Outdoor Spaces

The College Drive Campus features a lot of great outdoor spaces for students to enjoy the outdoors, to enjoy a meal, to study and more. 

From the campus trails, the Zen garden and the multiple picnic tables you are to find a great spot on a sunny day. 

Multi-Faith Meditation Room

Canadore College has a growing diverse population and to maintain an inclusive campus, the Multi-Faith Meditation Room is an optional space where individuals can practice all religious and spiritual beliefs in a respectful environment.

The space has a neutral design allowing individuals to practice their beliefs whether it's meditation, prayer, yoga, or any other religious beliefs for students and staff.
