State-Of-The-Art Academic FacilityGenomics Research Hub at Canadore College is a state-of-the-art academic facility established in 2019 with the vision of being the first academic lab in Canada to offer next-generation sequencing at the college level. In addition to providing academic instruction in genomics, our Genomics Research Hub also leverages this space to help external researchers and organizations harness the power of genomics for their projects. Our Research Department works diligently to assist our partners in obtaining access to diverse research funding sources, empowering researchers to incorporate genomics-based technologies into their individual programs. At the Genomics Research Hub, we take pride in our contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. During the outbreak, we actively participated in sequencing COVID-19 samples and served as a testing center in collaboration with a corporate partner. These experiences have further strengthened our expertise and commitment to genomics research. |

Our primary goal is to serve as a community research hub, offering researchers from various fields the opportunity to gain access to genomics-related technologies and expertise without the need to invest in a fully equipped laboratory of advanced instrumentation.
