“To achieve my ambition of becoming an Aviation Engineer, I chose the Aviation Technician - Aircraft Maintenance program at Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I made for my career.
Canadore’s Aviation Campus is an outstanding facility, offering hands-on training, industry-relevant resources, and an immersive learning environment. The expansive hangar, filled with a variety of aircraft, along with dedicated practical shops for each course, provided me with extensive hands-on experience. The instructors were not only knowledgeable but also deeply supportive, using their industry expertise to bridge the gap between theory and real-world applications. The education I received at Canadore has been a driving force in my career.
North Bay was my first home in Canada, and it is truly a wonderful city for students. The city is peaceful, welcoming, and surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. It’s an ideal place to live and learn.
After graduating in 2021, I began my career as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice at Springer Aerospace in Echo Bay, Ontario. This opportunity allowed me to apply the skills I gained at Canadore while learning about the industry firsthand. In 2023, I continued my apprenticeship at AAR Aircraft Services in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, where I earned my AME M2 License and gained further valuable experience.
Today, I am proud to be working as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at Canada’s largest airline, Air Canada, in Montreal, ensuring strict safety of aircraft and maintaining airworthiness. Knowing that passengers and crew travel safely because of this work makes the effort worthwhile.
My time at Canadore College was truly transformative, preparing me for the challenges of the aviation industry. I am deeply thankful for the education, skills and opportunities that Canadore provided. For anyone aiming a successful career in aviation, I highly recommend Canadore College, it played a pivotal role in my journey and set me up for success in this exciting field.”
