Learning the Spirit of Teamwork

Second-year culinary management students started off their school year by boosting their leadership and team-building skills at Spirit Point in Trout Creek, Ont.
Students spent the day in the woods participating in a variety of activities designed by the retreat’s staff to help them learn more about their personal leadership styles and how to balance individual differences, styles, strengths and weaknesses in a team-oriented industry. Learners completed exercises including self-reflection, low rope obstacles, rock climbing, and hiking.
“I definitely feel more comfortable with everyone. I think it will help us in our kitchen labs,” said Faye Pollet.
