Exploring Local and Business Solutions for a Greener FutureIn May 2022, Canadore College partnered with Earth in a Nest Business Collaborative to host the regions first Sustainability Summit. This free two-day event was open to the public and brought together a variety of expert speakers covering a wide range of sustainability related topics. The presenters included authors, academics, sustainability professionals, and community leaders. It was offered in a hybrid format both in-person and streamed nationally for those who could not attend in person. The first day focused on sustainability more generally and covered topics like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Effects of Climate in our Region, Sustainability from an Indigenous Perspective, Food Insecurity, and more. The second day focused on sustainability as a business and brought together a panel of local businesses committed to acting sustainably and introduced the “Business Sustainability Tool Kit” assembled by Earth in a Nest Business Collaborative.
